THE CURRENT DÁIL doesn’t have a dress code. A plan to bring one in back in 2011 fell flat.

That is why Mick Wallace can wear football jerseys and ties are optional. This week, UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn took criticism for not wearing a tie during the party’s conference.

But should politicians be suited and booted? Does what they wear matter?
