BRITISH ACTOR DANIEL Craig is to return as James Bond when the latest film in the franchise hits cinemas in 2019.

That’s according to the New York Times, which broke the news today after the first official announcement that the next Bond installment is due out in two years.

Spectre, the most recent Bond film, came out in 2015.

The New York Times said that the script for the next, as yet unnamed, Bond film will be written by the same team behind the last six movies – Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

While the studio hasn’t confirmed Craig’s return, the New York Times said he will be back for at least one more film – according to two anonymous insiders.

This will be Craig’s fifth appearance as Bond on-screen.
