Danish intelligence service arrests three over terror attack plans

The three are suspected of plotting a terror attack in Copenhagen.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in Denmark over a foiled terror attack attempt.

The Danish Security and Intelligence Service said the arrests were made at two separate addresses in Copenhagen. Those arrested have been provisionally charged with illegal possession of automatic weapons and ammunition after searches of a number of properties were conducted.

The police intelligence division (PET) suspect the three to be involved in plotting a terrorist attack but no further details have been released. They said that the threat has been averted as a result of the arrests.

The three people arrested include a 22-year-old from Jordan, a 23-year-old Turkish national and a 21-year-old Danish citizen who had been residing in Egypt. They are due to appear before a city court later today.
