Danny DeVito confirmed for 2013 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival

Legendary actor, producer and director, Danny DeVito will be presented with the VOLTA career achievement award at this year’s festival.

DANNY DEVITO WILL arrive in Dublin next year to attend a special tribute at the 2013 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, taking  place from the 14th – 24th February 2013.

DeVito’s career spans TV and film, including a defining role as Louie De Palma in the hit TV show Taxi, to his phenomenal film career including roles in One Flew Over the Cuckcoo’s Nest, Batman Returns and his directorial classics The War of the Roses, Throw Momma from the Train and Matilda.

He currently stars in the hugely successful FX series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

DeVito, 68, will be presented with the VOLTA, the festival career achievement award, during his trip to Dublin.

The Volta awards are named after Ireland’s first dedicated cinema, the Volta Picture Theatre, which was established by James Joyce in 1909 on Dublin’s Mary Street. Previous recipients have included Al Pacino, Daniel Day-Lewis, Gabriel Byrne, Kristin Scott Thomas, Patricia Clarkson and Paolo Sorrentino.

Ireland’s foremost film event, the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2013 will take place from 14-24th February 2013. Season Tickets are currently available from the festival website – including an early bird rate.
