Gardaí investigate after dog shot dead in overnight attack in Dublin

The shots were fired at around 1am.

GARDAI ARE INVESTIGATING after a shooting incident in Dublin last night.

A number of shots were fired at a house on Moatview Avenue, Priorswood, at around 1am this morning. Members of the Garda Armed Response Unit attended the scene.

There were no injuries to anyone inside the house.

A garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 26th May, 2018 at approximately 1am.

“Gardaí attended Moatview Avenue, Priorswood in relation to reports of shots fired. A number of shots were fired into the rear of the house on Moatview Avenue. The home owners dog was found shot dead in the back garden. No persons in the house were injured.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
