Body found in search for missing man David Maguire

A search started on January 2 and the operation was one of the biggest in Donegal in recent years.

THE SEARCH FOR missing man, David Maguire, has been called off after a body was recovered in south-west Donegal yesterday.

The body was found in an area known as Spanish Arch at Towney Pier, near Kilcar.

It comes after a ten-day mountain and sea search. Two locals taking part in the search found the body at around 1:45 pm.

The 38-year-old was last seen leaving a party at 4.30am on New Year’s Day near his home in Carrick.

A search started on January 2 and the operation was one of the biggest in Donegal in recent years.

A post mortem will take place at Letterkenny General Hospital in the coming days.
