Man in his 60s killed after overnight fire at Limerick house

The incident happened late last night.

A MAN HAS died following a fire at a house in Limerick.

The death was not believed to be suspicious and the man, aged in mid sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire happened in the Assumpta Park area of Newcastle West, with emergency services called out at around 9pm yesterday evening.

Gardaí and units from Limerick Fire and Rescue attended the scene.

It is thought that fire units remained at the scene until shortly after midnight.
