Gardaí arrest 24 street dealers after sting operation in Tallaght

Undercover gardaí made over 74 ‘buys’ from dealers over the course of the operation.

GARDAI HAVE ARRESTED 24 people in Dublin after an undercover operation which involved officers making test drug purchases to catch street dealers in the act.

The sting operation was part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Tallaght area. It was launched in the middle of last year by the Street Purchasing Unit attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit, together with the Tallaght drugs unit.

During the course of the operation, over 74 ‘buys’ were made by undercover gardaí. In the last two weeks, 24 dealers were arrested and charged.

They will appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday 24 July.
