Emergency services come under attack at sub station fire in Derry

The PSNI is investigating an arson attack at an electricity substation in the city.

THE PSNI IS investigating an arson attack on an electricity sub station in Derry last night.

The fire caused substantial damage to the sub station in the Daisyfield Park area and affected electricity supply to parts of Derry for a time.

Firefighters and police officers came under attack at the scene, where a group of youths threw stones and bottles.

Police in Derry are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at Strand Road on 0044 (0)845 600 8000.
