4 of a kind: Detached family homes with spacious gardens

Our pick of roomy, turnkey homes with lots of green space.

HAVING A PRIVATE garden can be a total game-changer for those who are used to apartment living or are based in a townhouse that doesn’t offer much green space.

Having an area where the kids can play safely, where you can entertain or simply soak up some rays does the world of good – particularly in the age of working from home.

So, this week we’ve rounded up four nicely-sized properties around the country with huge gardens surrounding them.

Portlaw, Co Waterford – €475,000

Spanning a generous 251 m², Ashville is a five-bed dormer bungalow that’s ready to be moved into right away. It sits on a 1.4 acre site and offers plenty of parking, lawns, an adjacent block built garage, a greenhouse, a wood store and a dry shed. It’s approached by electric gates and the house is alarmed ensuring peace of mind for safe countryside living. For entertaining outdoors, there’s a large patio area.

This house sits just outside Portlaw, a small village that has a few amenities like shops, a Credit Union and pubs. The larger town of Carrick on Suir is about 13km away while Waterford city is under 20km.

It has a big back garden and patio area that grabs the sun, as well as a detached garage, workshop and office.
