The Northern Lights in Naul, Co Dublin. Ian Lennon

Poll: Did you spot the Northern Lights this week?

The Aurora Borealis was seen across Ireland.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS were visible over Ireland this week, with stargazers spotting a spectacular display of colours across the country.

From Burrow Beach in Sutton to Cape Clear island, some people were lucky to catch the display of pink, purple and blue across the night sky on Monday and Tuesday.

Also known as the Aurora Borealis,  The Northern Lights are typically not visible this far south, but the Earth was hit by an intense solar storm on Monday, leading to a disruption in the Earth’s magnetic field and a spectacular lights show.

So today we’re asking: Did you spot the Northern Lights this week?

Poll Results:

No (6187)
Yes (305)
