IT’S THAT TIME of year when people begin reaching for the pumpkin-spiced lattes and prepping for spooky season, but for us there’s a far bigger day worth celebrating. 

It’s Disney+ Day and it’s arrived!

Disney+ created a global moment for fans and new audiences alike. For existing customers, a host of new releases such as Thor: Love and Thunder, Pinocchio, and Wedding Season all hit the streaming service. And for new subscribers, there’s also reason to celebrate with a limited offer of €1.99 for their 1st month. 

The Disney+ Day line-up featured highly anticipated global premieres from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Simpsons, and much more.

Not picking favourites, but Thor: Love and Thunder was definitely up there on our must-watch first list. The film finds our beloved God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – one of self-discovery.

But his efforts are interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, who seeks the extinction of the gods. With familiar favourites such as Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi and Natalie Portman lighting up the screen, it’s a must-watch.

If it’s a hint of magic you’re seeking, look no further than the live-action retelling of the beloved tale of Pinocchio. Tom Hanks stars as Gepetto in this family-favourite which is available to stream now.

This musical fantasy film hits all the right notes with audiences and with Joseph Gordon -Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Luke Evans all starring in voice roles, it’s one for all the family and won’t disappoint. 

For any romantics out there looking for a wedding tale with a twist, Disney+ has just the thing in the form of Wedding Season. Starring Rosa Salazar and Gavin Drea, this genre-busting series tells the classic tale of boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, then there’s some mass murder, organised crime and the pursuit of innocence thrown in for good measure.

Other titles on offer include Mike, an 8-episode drama which explores the tumultuous life of Mike Tyson and Disney and Pixar fans can rejoice with the return of Lightning and Mater in Cars on the Road, Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy delight in this action-packed cross-country adventure.
