Two men arrested over dissident activity in Dublin

One of the men will appear before the Special Criminal Court at 7.30pm this evening.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have arrested two men in connection with suspected dissident republican activity.

As part of an ongoing operation targeting dissident republican activity in the capital, Gardaí attached to the Special Detective Unit, arrested two men aged 30 and 25 yesterday afternoon.

Both men were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939/1998 and were detained at Irishtown Garda Station.

The 25-year-old was released from custody today and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The second man will appear before the Special Criminal Court at 7.30pm this evening.
