Gun stash seized in crackdown on Dublin dissidents

Detectives raided a house in the East Wall area of the city this afternoon.

A MAN IN his 50s has been arrested and five guns seized after gardaí raided a house in the East Wall area of Dublin today.

The operation took place “as part of ongoing investigations into the activities of dissident republicans in the Dublin area” according to gardaí.

A planned search of a house on Church Road was carried out by the Special Detective Unit and the Emergency Response Unit at 1.40pm.

Four handguns, a shotgun and ammunition were found.

The man, who’s aged in his late 50s, was arrested at the scene.

He’s been taken for questioning to Mountjoy Garda Station.
