Donal Óg Cusack is campaigning for gay rights in Russia

The hurling legend is handing out lovehearts to promote the plight of LGBT people.

CORK HURLING LEGEND Donal óg Cusack is taking to the streets of Moscow today, to protest the Russian government’s anti-gay “propaganda” laws.

The goalkeeper, who is openly gay, tweeted a picture of a pile of paper lovehearts which he will be distributing in the street.

He tweeted that he is joined by “brave young Russians” in handing out the hearts, which bear the slogans “Love Has No Gender” and “Love Is Stronger Than Hate”.

Last year, Russia banned the promotion of “non-traditional” sexuality which makes providing information on homosexuality to under 18-year-olds illegal.
