Donald Trump boards branded garbage truck to highlight Biden gaffe at Wisconsin rally
The US President referred to Trump’s supporters as “garbage” while condemning remarks made by a comedian about Puerto Rico at a rally for the Republican nominee.
DONALD TRUMP PULLED an election stunt by boarding a garbage truck to highlight muddled remarks made by US President Joe Biden about his supporters.
Biden caused controversy with the remarks in a campaign call on Tuesday, as he addressed a row that erupted after one of Trump’s warm-up speakers at a New York rally referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”
Speaking on the video call aimed at encouraging people to vote, he said: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters”.
The president tried to clarify the comment afterwards, saying he had intended to say Trump’s demonisation of Latinos was unconscionable.
Democratic nominee Kamala Harris sought to distance herself from the remark when she was asked about it, telling reporters that Biden had clarified his comment and that she strongly disagreed “with any criticism of people based on who they vote for”.
Last night, Trump walked down the steps of the Boeing 757 that bears his name in Green Bay, Wisconsin, walked across a rain-soaked tarmac and, after twice missing the handle, climbed into the passenger seat of the white garbage truck that also carried his name.

“How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump said, wearing an orange and yellow safety vest. “This is in honour of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
He again tried to distance himself from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, whose joke had set off the firestorm, but did not denounce it. He also said he did not need to apologise to Puerto Ricans.
“I don’t know anything about the comedian,” he said. “I don’t know who he is. I’ve never seen him. I heard he made a statement, but it was a statement that he made. He’s a comedian, what can I tell you. I know nothing about him.”
A spokesperson for Trump said the joke does not reflect his views, but the former president has not addressed it himself.
“I love Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico loves me,” Trump said from the garbage truck.
He ended the brief appearance by telling reporters: “I hope you enjoyed this garbage truck. Thank you very much.”
When he took the stage a short time later, he was still wearing the orange vest.
Trump had just attacked Harris over employment figures before he said: “And it’s not her, it’s the people that surround her. They’re scum. They’re scum, and they want to take down our country. They are absolute garbage.”
Meanwhile, Harris traveled to North Carolina and onward to Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, focusing again on three of seven battleground states that could determine who wins the closest election in modern US history.
‘Unstable, obsessed’
In Madison, Wisconsin she told supporters: “Folks are exhausted and want it to stop, the pointing fingers. It is time that we start locking arms together as a people who rise and fall together.”
More than 57 million have already cast their ballots via early or mail-in voting, over a third of the 2020 total.

Trump – who has 34 felony convictions for crimes connected to the 2016 election – is expected to reject Tuesday’s result if he loses.
The Republican is already seizing on commonplace verification processes by election officials to amplify his claims of widespread “cheating.”
In North Carolina, Harris hammered home her campaign’s message to “turn the page” on Trump, leading the crowd in chants of “we are not going back!”
“This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance and out for unchecked power,” said Harris.
In Washington, Harris had spoken at the very spot where Trump stirred up a mob that went on to attack the US Capitol on 6 January 2021 in a violent attempt to keep him in power even though he lost the 2020 election to Biden.
Trump has taken to social media to repeat his claims of voter fraud, appearing to set the stage for a repeat performance around the unfounded claim that his 2020 loss to Biden was rigged.
He denounced what he said was “cheating” at “large-scale levels never seen before” in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania.
At his North Carolina rally, Trump again cast doubt on the fairness of voting machines and called for a return to paper ballots.
His campaign on Wednesday made a fresh plea for campaign donations by referencing Biden’s comments.
But one person who will not be voting for Trump on 5 November will be actor and former Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, who endorsed Harris.
“Rejecting the results of an election is as un-American as it gets,” he said of Trump.
Inflation and the economy have been key issues this election, and on Wednesday new data showed solid economic growth despite a slight slowdown.

Overnight polls indicating President Trump pulling further clear of the warmonger. Next week’s vote will go down in the history books as the day the world stood at the precipice of peace & stability & voted overwhelmingly to turn it’s back on death, destruction, proxy wars, a failed economy & rampant inflation.
@Kevvy kerrr: my ‘Trump 2024: F your feelings’ T-shirt arrived this morning. Can wait to wear it with pride and annoying lefties will just make it even sweeter
@Kevvy kerrr: not according to oddschecker. He will hand ukraine to pulin. Will he celebrate by having sex with a hard-core porn star like he did when his wife was heavily pregnant? The economy has never been as good and his mental health is not so healthy.
@John F doe: was down the strand earlier with my 4 doggies….. they all wearing their new MAGA bandanas……. Everyone complimenting them, met a lovely couple from Delaware, they taking loads of selfies with the hounds for some blog they’re doing so hoping they’ll go viral ( though I’ve no idea what that even means, lol)
@brian madden: Was he the first serving US President to have an affair? I remember good old Bill and Monica in his office. JFK as well, just to name a couple. It is between him and his wife. None of our business.
The President of peace always has that cheeky sense of humour in fairness, disgusting what the sitting president said about over 50% of the American voters. The Great Victory for Peace is less than a week away!!
@Bert Carolan: Many do laugh at the epic leftie woke meltdown that’s acoming. But there’s nothing humorous about the ‘ in tray’ facing the President of Peace next week….. an awful lot of work lies ahead putting the world back on even keel.
@Joe Kelly: sure fella, just like over 50% of the American population…… Like genocide joey said yesterday….mind you, poor ol’ crater probably doesn’t even remember saying it, lol.
@Frank Mc Carthy: roll on next week: Dems to be confirmed as victors, and you and your multiple accounts will be gone from this comment section. Brighter days are comin’
@Kevin Kerr: wey hey, my personal stalker has arisen……. Is it true that yesterday you were telling people NOT to reply- to NOT engage with certain posters ?? When exactly did you become chef of police for the journal?? The idea of this site is Frank, open & informative debate….. NOT what you say, I’ve no issue with you stalking me but leave others have their opinions & views
@Kevin Kerr: I reckon Stephen will pivot straight to ‘STOP THE STEAL!’ hysteria when Harris wins. Unless of course his profiles are deleted, as they should be.
@Brendan O’Brien: ah the tolerant left , free speech is fine once it’s agreeable with our view of the world. People are tired of it & this is what will push trump over the line
@ItWasLikeThatWhenIGotHere: Certainly not , I think we can all agree fascism is a bad thing. Fascists don’t tend to be democratically elected or leave office when they lose. Let’s stop using these labels that block any type of meaningful discussions between groups & focus on the issues.
@John F doe: Trump will tell his cult anything they want to hear. Then, do nothing like he did in 2016. He didn’t do anything for the middle class, only his super rich friends. Did precious little about the border. The wall was a joke. Yet people believe his rethoric.
@Patrick Kennedy: he is an absolute legend, nothing the vile democrats wokesters say has any impact on him. No wonder they are all losing their minds lol
Really?!! Shouldn’t Trump avoid any connection with his M.S.G. event and the rhetoric involved. He’s just doubling down yet again on what will appeal to his core support, when he still needs to broaden his vote. Also the optics weren’t good. Trump struggled to open the driver’s door, while that jacket emphasised how his mouth and eyes have been left stranded adrift from the fake tan. He looks like and Adam West Batman villain.
@Jamie Hinch: suggest u follow the recent fireworks in the appeals court. The prosecuting lawyers now seem more focused on keeping there licences for let’s be nice and say serious over-sites rather than defending there case! It’s funny what’s not reported on main stream media
@common sense: with hundreds of thousands dead in needless proxy wars id say insulting over half the population is fairly low down on the list of things he should be ashamed of
@Brendan O’Brien: but but but Trump hahaha ah Bren that old chestnut really! Be honest old Joe said the quiet part out loud it’s exactly what the dems think of half the country
@Brendan O’Brien: Harris is running a unity theme Brendan and Biden comes out with that gem of an insult. I may be dim but not as dim as the current president of the United States. The media even trying to cover up for him, that he didn’t say it despite everyone hearing what he said. Do you think Biden I was fit to run again and most importantly due you think he’s fit to still be in office. Harris is really taking unity to a new level though, with a different accent to every audience see speaks to. My current favourite is pastor harris doing her MLK impression. Cometh in the morning, what’s that about. Well it was you that brought dim into it
@ItWasLikeThatWhenIGotHere: Each media outlet has its captured audience and doing a poll of them is more useful for its marketing than any other purpose.
I can’t back a guy that can’t even open the door of his bin lorry, that’ll figuratively clean up America’s garbage…
John F, Frank, Don, kevvy…. he’s lost his motor skills…amongst other functions…ya can’t back this man…!!! I beg of you, reconsider your values in a president..
Ha, go on… resort to your mantra… P2, paragraph 3 of your How To Idolise your Cult Leader
“President of Peace”…
“President of Peace”…
President hair piece
@wwvCLOuF: now now, keep it all in till’ the EPIC WOKE LEFTIE MELTDOWN, it’s only a few more days….. Bottle it up…… We’re so looking forward to the left implosion ….. The crying & gnashing of teeth will reverberate around the world, lol
@Kevvy kerrr: but really though, do you guys really personally want to see trump win? Are you lobbying & threading political establishment on SM all day? D’ya get paid? Being genuine here. Why push your agenda so hard here on the comments? Your support seems bit off in any case. Outcome, whoever wins, won’t directly affect you so…
Is there a trump cult video that you all watched? Ye all kinda go on like ya did… (not trying to antagonise)
@Brendan O’Brien: “this I promise you, after Harris wins we will, together, do everything we can to change US policy toward Netanyahu – including an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, a surge of massive humanitarian aid, the stopping of settler attacks on the West Bank, and the rebuilding of Gaza for the Palestinian people”
Does Bernie Sanders not realise who is in office currently? Why must he wait for Kamala to be elected president. Surely this current administration would do the things he promises NOW if those promises were anything other than empty rhetoric
@Darth O’Leary: He sees a chance of changing US policy under a Harris (but not a Trump) presidency. Let’s hope he’s right. Biden has been a disaster in this regard, and change is clearly impossible while he’s in office.
I wonder how you Trumpites will feel if this megalomaniac succeeds: His policies may well see American multinationals pull out of Ireland. Take a moment and try to imagine the effect that would have on our econom
@Focal Cliste: Trump’s claims for what his ‘policies’ will result in (and his lies about what successes they had in 2017 to 2020) are secondary to what pay-offs he will accept. The super rich and multi-nationals will manipulate Trump for their ends, not the other way around. I doubt we have that much to fear from a 2nd Trump presidency in terms of the presence of multi-nationals in Ireland. Trump wasn’t even involved in the drafting of the tax breaks according to a Republican legislator involved. Unsurprising.
As of just after 8am GMT this morning some 50 million early and absentee votes have been received, with a gender breakdown of 53% women, 45% male.
There are probably in the region of 110-120 votes yet to be cast nationwide.
In the Presidential battleground states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin): 13.5 million votes have been received, 54% women, 44% male, some of whom will be men.
The battleground states of North Carolina has recorded 3.2 million votes, 55% women, 44% male, some of whom will be men.
And the battleground states of Georgia has 3.1 million votes, 56% women, 44% male, sone of whom will be men and will stand against the Christo-fascists in support of women and girls.
@ItWasLikeThatWhenIGotHere: is there supposed to be a point amongst all that drivel?? Local hospital here MOST of the nurses are female but the waste collection lorries picking up at the hospital are mainly driven by men….. sex ( where real or perceived) doesn’t enter the ballot box
@FlipBip: Abortion rights. ‘Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump has applauded himself for his role in the ruling, since he nominated three of the Supreme Court Justices who voted to overturn Roe in 2022. He called the ensuing flood of state-level restrictions “a beautiful thing to watch.”’
@ItWasLikeThatWhenIGotHere: Yes: Trump is a misogynist who likes to control women, whether he’s grabbing them without their consent (as he admitted doing) or facilitating the dismantling of their rights.
@Brendan O’Brien: you’re fully aware that any woman who wants one can go and have as many abortions as she likes Brendan. Since the Dobbs decision there has been increasing numbers of the procedures. You know that right? Or are you peddling what you’ve been fed
@Mick O’K: What do you mean by ‘fed’, exactly? Unlike you, I base my opinions on facts gleaned from reputable sources. You base yours entirely on your gut feelings, which happen to be reactionary.
‘Trump has come under fire for his inflammatory rhetoric and false claims about abortion during this election cycle. He has repeatedly accused Democrats, without evidence, of supporting abortion “after birth” (that is not abortion, but infanticide, which is a crime everywhere in the U.S.). Meanwhile, Harris has cast herself as a champion of reproductive rights, pledging to restore the protections that Roe had guaranteed and garnering endorsements from organizations like the Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF).’
@Brendan O’Brien: so we’re clear. Has any woman’s reproductive rights been taken away because the stats don’t agree with you. I’ll say again any woman who wants/needs one can get one. Democrats and Tim Walz has signed full term abortions into the books. Dems across the board support this. I asked you the other day if Trump said there’d be a bloodbath, he’d be a dictator if he’s elected. Did he say peacefully and patriotically? 4 times I asked that particular one and you refused to answer. So did your “reputable” sources feed you that he did or did not say those things. Technically this is a 5th time I have asked you
@Mick O’K: The January 6 fiasco was caused by Trump’s Big Lie that the election was stolen from him. Do you accept that this was a lie, and do you accept that it led directly to January 6?
@Brendan O’Brien: Donald Trump lost the last election Brendan. Donald Trump spoke to his support on J6, he asked that they go peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol. You’ve not answered again. Do you acknowledge he used those words Brendan because of you’re basing your opinion on those reputable sources you absolutely need to get new sources.
@Mick O’K: The exact phrasing he used on the day, which you re fixated on, doesn’t matter. The Big Lie, repeated constantly for two months, led directly to the actions of his followers on January 6.
Was it wrong of him to devise and endlessly repeat the Big Lie?
@Brendan O’Brien: hahaha if you need help with it pick some new outlets and I’ll pay the subs for you. You’re hilarious you talk about Trumps lies all the time but you won’t answer honestly yourself. There’s a name for that type of behaviour Brendan. You’re just not capable of any dialogue that goes against the narrative that’s been fed to you. You believe lies from one source yet call out other people telling lies
@Brendan O’Brien: by yet another non answer you’re saying you’re fine with lies being told so long as those lies are told by people you like. Here’s the truth Brendan lies aren’t good. You should know that. I genuinely gave you more credit and thought when engaged you’d speak with anyone. When in truth the only dialogue only real dialogue (for you) is wanting accounts banned off this site
The usa has gone to the dogs under Biden and Harris, riots, looting, mass homelessness, grinding poverty, unvetted criminals destroying America’s cities. Racist media poisoning the younger generation by depicting white americans as evil, black Americans as incapable of achievement on their own merit, painting them as victims when they are not. The democrats attacks on traditional family values, the woke movement indoctrination of youth, permanently sterilising children, attacking gay people’s right to be just gay and not trapped in the wrong body. The Democrats are an evil cabal posing as saviours.
Ps lads on both sides,it’s an American election, nothing to do with you with you!trump is a mentally unstable auld lad,if he gets in it’s just a power trip for an auld fool
