Man dies after car plunges off motorway into river

The incident happened at about 6.30am this morning.

A MAN HAS died after the car he was driving plunged from a motorway and into a river in Yorkshire, England.

The accident happened at about 6.30am on the A1 road in Doncaster. The car in question left the road and entered the River Don.

The man’s body has since been recovered, according to South Yorkshire police.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, it’s understood that the man’s family have been informed.

Police officers remain at the scene while underwater search teams are on hand to assist with the recovery operation.
