Cyclist killed after being hit by a van

A second cyclist is in hospital.

GARDAÍ IN DONEGAL are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that left a cyclist dead.

The incident occurred at Moneydarragh, Gleneely, Co Donegal on the Redcastle to Gleneely road, at around 9.15am today.

A cyclist in his 40s was fatally injured in a collision with a van. A second cyclist injured in the incident was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the van was not injured.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
