Man injured in Donegal shooting

The 29-year-old was shot last night in a house close to the Co Derry border.

A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been injured in a shooting in Donegal close to the Co Derry border.

Two masked and armed men are believed to have entered a house at Legnatraw before the shooting occurred between 10pm and 10.30pm last night

The man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A 34-year-old woman who was also in the house at the time of the incident was not injured.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

Gardaí say that a silver 4×4 was found at Moness, about 1 mile from the scene of the shooting, and it will be preserved for a technical examination.

Anyone who may have any information about the shooting or who may have seen any unusual activity in the vicinity of Legnatraw or Moness between 9pm and 11pm last night is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
