Gardaí discover driver wanted in Poland after car fled from checkpoint

The driver was also disqualified for two years from February 2015.

A DRIVER WHO is wanted in Poland was arrested after a car fled from a garda checkpoint in Galway this afternoon.

Gardaí found that the driver had no tax, insurance or NCT licence when they followed the car.

Officers soon discovered that the driver was wanted in Poland and was also disqualified for two years from February 2015.

The discovery was made during an Operation Thor checkpoint.

The driver has since been arrested to appear in court.
