Part of Drogheda closed off after suspect device found

The device was found around 3pm today.

PART OF DROGHEDA has been closed off after a suspect device was found in the town.

The device was found around 3pm today, prompting road closures.

An Army bomb disposal team was deployed to the area.

A statement from gardaí said:

“The Duke Street area of Drogheda has been closed by Gardaí due to the discovery of a suspect device at approximately 3pm.

“The Army EOD team have been requested to attend. Diversions are in place.”

Part of Fair Street has been sealed off by gardaí.
