How many journeys were there on Dublin Bus last year?

Loads. And loads and loads and loads.

FOUR MILLION MORE journeys were taken on a Dublin Bus in 2014 than the year before.

The company today released figures showing that 119 million passengers were carried on their 945 buses last year.

The company plans to acquire an additional 90 new environmentally friendly buses in 2015, which will be delivered in the second half of the year.

The positive trend in passenger numbers also resulted in Dublin Bus commencing its third recruitment drive since 2013. Last year, the company employed an additional 160 new drivers to cater for additional demand. The application process for drivers is open for 2015 and the company hopes to employ in the region of an additional 50 drivers this year.

Dublin Bus Chief Executive, Paddy Doherty said that the company has taken a step forward.

“The continued increase in passenger numbers marks a significant step forward for Dublin Bus and we are delighted to be able to create additional driver positions to meet the increase in demand.

“This growth also proves the effectiveness of the many developments which have been delivered over the past three years such as improved services through the Network Direct Project and customer service improvements such as Real Time Passenger Information, the Dublin Bus app, on-board Wi-Fi and Leap Card.”

@Kevin Hill: they were on ground that was drying so were going to die. Did the same myself in early march and have a few thousand tadpoles in a pond which I’ll be releasing as soon as they are frogs. Could have been famous too!

Illegal… Jesus every child the far side of the red cow collected tadpoles as a kid, and caught bees in a jam jar.

Jesus I’ve been doing this for years, because frogs return to the same spot every year to spawn so they generally spawn in drainage ditches near us which end up drying up. So we collect them, rear them and release them in a nature reserve near us also. Never thought to put it on the internet. Guess I missed my five minutes of fame.
The world we live in now everything is a sensation.
