Dublin bus stolen from city centre

Gardaí stopped the bus in Blessington, Co. Wicklow – over 30 kilometres from where it was stolen.

A DUBLIN BUS was stolen from the city centre and driven across the city last night before being apprehended by gardaí.

The bus had travelled over 30 kilometres before it was stopped in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.

It is believed that the bus was taken from Eden Quay at around 8.30pm last night. The driver drove the bus through the city centre and south Dublin.

Gardaí managed to stop the bus at around 10pm – some 90 minutes after it had been taken – and the driver was brought to Rathfarnham garda station.

The driver is a former employee of Dublin Bus, according to a report in the Evening Herald.
