4 of a kind: Spacious penthouses in Dublin city

From a two floor apartment in Stillorgan to a D4 penthouse with a massive terrace.

PENTHOUSES OFFER EXTRA space, great views and a bit of luxury if you don’t quite want a house but find a standard apartment lacks enough room to breathe.

Many have balconies and more than one floor making them a happy compromise. .

This week, we’ve found a selection of penthouses around Dublin city – all with great views from up high.

Stillorgan, Co Dublin – €650,000

Apartment 102 at Beechwood Court is an energy efficient apartment that’s the size of a standard house. With a floor space of 115 m² spread over two floors, this three-bed property has a lift to each floors, making it a great option in terms of accessibility. Each large bedroom perched on top offers super sea views.

A great mix of town and seaside living, Dun Laoghaire Harbour is a quick drive away, which will give you a good idea of how centrally located this penthouse really is.

Leopardstown, Dublin 18 – €550,000

Apartment 1110 at Vantage East on the outskirts of town is a spacious 95 m² apartment on the 11th floor that offers views over Dublin city. It’s in great nick having being built in the early 2000s. A wraparound balcony surrounds this large two-bed that comprises a hall with a bathroom just off it, and then an open plan living room and kitchen space with floor to ceiling windows. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and balcony access while the main bedroom has an en suite.

Location-wise, it has great access to public transport and everything Dublin and county has to avail of. The LUAS nearby will bring you to Stephen’s Green in a mere 20 minutes, too. There are also two underground parking spaces included.

Castleknock, Dublin 15 – €1,400,000

The biggest of this week’s picks, 27 Cherry Lodge is an impressive 230 m² in size and comprises three bedrooms, an open plan living and dining room soaked in daylight seeing as floor to ceiling glass doors lead on to the balcony.  Extra spaces include a reception room which could make a versatile spare room, office or playroom. A utility room sits off the hallway before you reach the bedrooms, which all have balcony access, too. The main bedroom has an en suite while the other two share the family bathroom.

The apartment overlooks Farmleigh and the Phoenix Park, so there’s plenty of green space on the doorstep, which is always appreciated in a city spot.

Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2

In 123 Forbes Quay’s case, the roof terrace is larger than the apartment itself, making it a great city centre option for keen hosts, particularly in the summer time.  This three-bedroom home measures 87 m² inside while the terrace spans over 100 m². Inside comprises a double aspect living space, a high-end kitchen and utility along with two bathrooms and three bedrooms – two double and a single.

A designated parking space is included in the sale – and no doubt it will be needed considering this home’s central location.
