13-year-old Dublin boy dies in accident at Derry motorcycle track

It is not yet certain what happened to the boy.

POLICE IN THE north are investigating after a 13-year-old Dublin boy died at a motocross track in Derry yesterday.

The boy, who is believed to be from Tallaght was at the facility in Magilligan, near Limavady when he died.

The death is being treated as a tragic accident.

The PSNI called the incident a “sudden death”, while Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, whose land the track is on, said an investigation is ongoing.

“Officers from the Council attended the scene immediately and investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.”

It is not yet certain what happened to the boy, but whether he fell off a motorbike is being investigated.
