Dublin Fire Brigade says stones were thrown at members dealing with bonfire

It’s understood the fire has caused disruption to the Luas red line.

DUBLIN FIRE BRIGADE says stones were thrown at its members who were attending a bonfire in Dublin city tonight.

The bonfire at Basin street flats next to the St James’ hospital morgue was described as ‘substantial’.

It was reported at around 6pm this evening.

Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade were sent to the scene of the blaze.

It’s understood the fire caused disruption to the Luas red line.

The Luas website says, “There is no service between Heuston and Blackhorse stop.”

Luas trams are currently only operating from the Point to Heuston and from Blackhorse to Tallaght or Saggart.

It added that Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus.

Dublin Fire Brigade says none of its members were injured tonight, however it’s understood that the stone throwing has been reported to the gardaí.
