You've heard of rescuing cats from trees but firefighters yesterday got a dog from a bush

The Jack Russell was freed in Finglas.

WHILE MOST PEOPLE were easing their way into 2017 yesterday, there was no paws for members of Dublin Fire Brigade.

A crew from Finglas were sent out to fetch a small terrier that had become trapped some dumped litter.

The rescuers were forced to use a cutter to gnaw away at the heavy material and free Misty the Jack Russell.

The dog was then taken out away and a picture of little Misty tweeted by the DFB shows the pooch having a well deserved nap after the woof ordeal.
