4 of a kind: Luxurious homes around Dublin city and county

From a two-bed in Ranelagh to a six-bed in Fairview.

EVEN IF WORKING from home is set to continue, Dublin is still the top county to lay down roots for many house hunters. Access to your pick of amenities, a possible shorter commute, using the car less and walking more are all top reasons why the city and surrounding areas stay firmly on the list.

This week, we’ve scoured listings north to south of the Liffey for a group of luxurious homes you won’t need to set foot outside the capital to view.

Fairview, Dublin 3 – €875,000

A mid terrace period home close to the sea and city, 13 Inverness Road is a 200 m² spread over four levels. A mix of modern and contemporary design, it still has Victorian details but has been updated over the years. Approached by granite steps, the entrance hall has the high ceilings you would expect from a 19th century townhouse. The other rooms comprise a living room has a large bay window and a kitchen and breakfast room that leads to the back garden that faces west. Additional detailing includes intricate ceiling roses and cornicing. There is another sitting room on another floor that could be a sixth bedroom.

The location of Inverness Road is simply ideal and the residents of Fairview enjoy a wealth of amenities on their doorstep. Close to Drumcondra village, Croke Park, the area is well served by both primary and secondary schools and the 123 bus route provides easy access into the city centre. Clontarf Dart Station is also nearby.
