Driving in Dublin over the next eight hours? A major diversion will be in place

This is down to the Luas Cross City development.

IF YOU ARE doing any late night driving in the centre of Dublin, you’ll want to look out for this diversion.

Traffic coming in from the D’Olier Street/ Westmoreland Street direction will be unable to access Dame Street and will be directed towards the Quays.

This closure will extend up around to the College Green area next to Trinity College.

This is happening to allow work to take place on the Luas Cross City development.

This will commence at midnight and continue on until 6am tomorrow morning – with full access hopefully back up and running by the time rush hour traffic kicks in.

There are ongoing traffic restrictions in place around College Green, with private cars prevented from using a corridor reserved for buses and taxis between 7am and 7pm on weekdays.
