Dublin loses another 220 jobs

Northern Trust is reducing the numbers it employs in Dublin. Eighty people will have the option to transfer to Limerick.

US FINANCE COMPANY Northern Trust has announced that it’s cutting 220 jobs in Dublin, as a result of duplicated roles.

RTÉ reports that 80 people are being given the opportunity to move to the company’s offices in Limerick. There will also be 50 jobs cut at the Northern Trust offices in London and Belfast.

The process of cutting jobs will take 18 months.

The company recently took over the management of security services at Bank of Ireland. Northern Trust has been in Ireland since 1990.
