Price Comparison: What can I buy in in Dublin for under €550,000?

GETTING A HANDLE on the fast-changing property market is tricky, but we’re here to make things a bit easier.

Each week, we find a number of homes within a similar budget, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a particular price point.

This week, we’re looking at properties around Dublin city and county with an asking price of €550,000 and under.

Four-bed, detached, Balbriggan – €545,000

Tobersool Lane is a 150 m² home that stands on just under an acre site. The house has extension potential, while the shed on site could be renovated. The rooms inside include a hallway that links to the sitting room and then a dining room that has doors to the garden. The kitchen has a utility room off it that also steps out to the garden.

Each of the four bedrooms are doubles and the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom.  The house sits between Stamullen and Balbriggan and is close to schools at all levels, plenty of sports facilities and shops. There is a regular bus service from Stamullen or Balbriggan and Gormanstown and Balbriggan train station is a five minute drive away.

Two-bed, end of terrace, Harold’s Cross – €545,000

Renovated in 2015, this 71 m² house in Dublin 6 is in great nick and comprises an open plan living, dining and kitchen space that benefits from large sliding doors to the back. Two-bed, end of terrace, Hollystown – €370,000

Nicely-sized for a two-bed, 8 The Avenue has a floor area of 92 m² and is located in north Dublin. Finished well and in good nick, the ground floor includes a large living room, a kitchen and a guest bathroom. The spaces are bright, particularly the kitchen as the patio doors are south facing. 

Both of the bedrooms are doubles and one has its own bathroom, leaving the other bathroom to the other. The private garden at the back can be accessed from the side of the house, while there is room for two cars at the front. TU Dublin Campus, Lady’s Well Park and Tolka Valley Park along with schools of both levels, all sit close by ensuring a great home for a small family.
