Man due in court after being arrested during sexual assault

A witness alerted the gardaí who rushed to the scene.

A MAN IN his 30s will appear in court today charged with an attempted sexual assault in Dublin.

The alleged attack took place at Parnell Place in the capital’s city centre in the early hours of Monday morning.

A witness alerted the gardaí who rushed to the scene and stopped the assault on Parnell Place at around 3am.

The suspect was arrested at the scene.

He was detained at Store Street Garda Station and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice today.

The victim, who is also in her 30s, was taken to the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the Rotunda Hospital.

A spokesman for the gardaí said she was discharged a short time later.
