€1.5m worth of heroin seized in Dublin

Two men were arrested after the Organised Crime Unit seized the drugs from a vehicle in Finglas during the night.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have seized heroin with an estimated street value of €1.5 million after searching a van on Dublin’s north side.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime unit stopped a vehicle at the Old North Road in Finglas at around 2am today as part of an ongoing operation into organised crime in Dublin.

The vehicle was searched and the quantity of heroin was seized.

Two men, one in his early 50s and one in his early 60s, were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station.

The men are being held under Section2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
