Retail goods worth €207,000 seized in Dublin Revenue

Revenue have seized over €200,000 worth of smuggled Uggs, Crocs and other designer clothes

A spokesperson said the seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.

REVENUE OFFICERS SEIZED contraband worth close to €442,000 during searches in Dublin and Athlone last week.

Officers examining parcels at a premises in Athlone seized over 10.4 kilograms of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €208,800.

The drugs were discovered in a parcel originating from Spain which was intended for an address in Dublin.

At a separate search of a premises in Dublin, various quantities of other illicit drugs with an estimated combined value of €26,000 were seized.

The illegal drugs were discovered in parcels originating from the USA, the UK, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Retail goods with an estimated value of around €207,000 were also seized due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights at the Dublin premises.

The retail goods consisted of over 1,000 items of Adidas, Chanel, Chloe, New Balance, Nike, North Face, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Yves Saint Laurent, Ugg, Off White, Dior, Crocs and Gucci.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing and a spokesperson said the seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.

Revenue has reminded businesses and members of the public that they can contract Revenue in confidence if they have any information regarding smuggling on 1800 295 295.
