€800,000 of heroin, ecstasy and cannabis seized in Dublin

Three men were arrested as gardaí raided two premises in the city.

THREE MEN HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized large quantities of heroin, cannabis and ecstasy in two raids in Dublin.

Around 60,000 ecstasy tablets were discovered along with heroin and herbal cannabis when officers raided an apartment in Inchicore earlier today. The haul has an estimated street value of €650,000, gardaí said.

Members of the drugs unit also searched an apartment complex in Chapelizod yesterday evening, uncovering heroin worth an estimated €150,000. Both raids were part of the same investigation.

Two men, one in his 50s and one in his 30s, were arrested during the Inchicore operation. They are currently being detained at Kilmainham and Kevin Street garda stations under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 2006.

A third man, in his 20s, was arrested at the scene of the Chapelizod drug find but has since been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
