UPDATED: Golden eagle ‘snatches playing toddler’… but it's a fake

FILMED IN A park in Montreal, this footage appears to show a golden eagle snatching a child, then dropping it a few feet later.

Happily (for the toddler, anyway) it’s emerged that the video is probably a fake. This Gawker post explains why.

Conservationists have also raised concerns about the clip, saying that staging events like this could further endanger already-scarce bird species.
