Nine arrested after ecstasy raid in border area

Gardaí in the Cavan/Monaghan division seized “a considerable amount of cash and controlled drugs” in the raid.

GARDAÍ IN the Cavan-Monaghan region have arrested nine people after a search-and-arrest operation this morning.

Officers said a “considerable amount” of ecstasy and other controlled drugs were seized, as was a large quantity of cash.

The nine people arrested including six men and three women, aged between their mid 20s to early 40s.

The nine are being held at various Garda stations throughout the two counties, under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Officers have not said precisely where the raid took place.
