6 perfect solutions to these problems you'll face this week

Take a load off as we sort out the small problems in life.

UNLIKE VIDEO GAMES, life doesn’t have a list of cheat codes.

But if it did, they might look a little bit like this list of no-stress tips for cutting hassle out of your day and sorting out the small stuff.

Some are so ingenious, you’ll be wondering why you hadn’t thought of them first…

1. Cooking up a storm

Problem: Need a bit of a hand when it comes to mastering the culinary arts? Cook books get lost in a sea of spills, packets and pans while you’re rustling up your dinner.

Solution: No problem. Keep them clean, out of the way and right in view by using a clippy trouser hanger and hang it off your kitchen press.

2. Flying high … or flying low?

Problem: Speaking of trousers, almost everyone will have an annoying pair of jeans with that zipper that won’t stay in its place. Morto.

Solution: This is a life-changing fix – simply add a keyring to the zip and hook it around the button. Voila. No more unseemly zippers.

3. No you hang up

Problem: For those of us who struggle to throw things away, give them to the charity shop or flog them online for some pocket money, this tip is a godsend…

Solution: Every time you wear a garment in your wardrobe, turn the hanger the other way. After a set period of time, say a year, check all the hangers that haven’t been turned. These are things you haven’t worn in 12 months and should probably reassess.

4. Steamy

Problem: You’re running late and need to get ready, but your clothes are all wrinkly. What to do?

Solution: Hang up a wrinkled top/dress/shirt in the bathroom while you’re showering or having a bath. The steam from the hot water will act as nature’s hand-steamer and your garment should be looking a lot less wrinkled. (Bonus: no ironing.)

5. Clean up your act

Problem: How often do you think about the cleanliness of your computer or laptop keyboard? If you’re like most of us, probably not at all. This might not be a problem you’re aware of, but it’s there.

Solution: Well, the next time a Post-It has fulfilled its use for you, don’t just chuck it away. Run it through the keys in your keyboard to clean out all the fluff. Satisfying.

6. Scentsational travelling

Problem: You’re travelling or packing up clothes and you don’t want them to get whiffy.

Solution: If you’re staying in a hotel when travelling, pop the hotel’s bar of soap into your laundry bag so it stays fresh as you travel home. You can also do this with a normal dryer sheet from home to keep all packed-up clothes smelling nice and remove static, too. Good one for the gym bag.
