7. #MOVING UP: Garda whistleblower Maurice McCabe is now heading up the Mullingar traffic corps, the Irish Examiner reports. The paper notes that although it is not a promotion, it is an indication he has been allowed resume his career.

8. #RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: New laws introduced in Indiana, that many fear will lead to discrimination, have been defended by the state’s governor. Writing in the Wall Street Journal, he said they have been “grossly misconstrued”.

9. #WEATHER WARNING: It was pretty windy overnight, as you might have noticed. Watch out for fallen trees this morning on the roads.
