1. #INQUIRY INTO INQUIRY: The banking inquiry whistleblower is calling for a “full independent” investigation to be held into their allegations, The Irish Times reports. In a statement to the paper, they claimed the Oireachtas has engaged in “repeated acts of penalisation” against them.

2. #SHOOTING: Two people have died and several people injured after a shooting at a cinema in Louisiana.

3. #NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: Ireland’s newest political party Identity Ireland says racism accusations are “nonsense”. We asked them some questions on what they’re all about.

4. #MIDDLE EAST: Turkey has launched air strikes on the so-called Islamic State after one of its soldiers were killed in a border attack.

5. #CELINE’S LAW: New proposed laws would see people found guilty of murder unable to receive any benefit from their victim’s death, RTÉ News reports. It has been dubbed Celine’s Law after Celine Cawley, murdered by her husband Eamonn Lillis who was still able to keep half their home.

6. #WAR CHEST: The Irish Sun reports that Renua has less than €11,000 in the party coffers after spending around €29,000 on the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election. “Raising money is extremely difficult”, Billy Timmins said.

7. #COURTS: A 17-year-old who violently mugged a 52-year-old stroke survivor and took his college thesis which he had worked on for six months has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

8. #FROSTY RECEPTION: Gardaí are beefing up security at the MacGuill Summer School ahead of Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s arrival today, according to the Irish Daily Mail. A small number of anti-water charge protesters are expected.

9. #THE BELLS: The Shandon clock tower in Cork is looking for a real-life Quasimodo-in-chief, the Irish Examiner reports, although that won’t be the official title. An advertisement has been published for a “tower manager”.
