Elderly man dies in Co Meath crash

AN ELDERLY MAN has died following a crash in Co Meath this evening.

The collision, which involved a car and a van, happened at around 5pm on the R162 Nobber to Kingscourt Road.

The driver of the van, a man in his 80s, died at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the car were taken to hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

Gardaí have preserved the scene in Nobber and the road is currently closed to traffic with local diversions are in place.

It will remain closed overnight.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the crash to come forward.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling between Navan and Kingscourt this evening between 4.30pm and 5.30pm are asked to provide it to investigating gardaí.
