Man in his 70s dies in Kerry house fire

The fire started shortly after 11pm yesterday evening.

A MAN IN his early 70s has died in a house fire in Moyvane, in North Kerry.

The fire broke out in the Woodgrove estate in Moyvane shortly after 11pm last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry, Tralee where a post-mortem is to be arranged.

The man was the sole occupant of the house and no other injuries were reported to gardaí.

The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination but a garda spokesman said that the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
