Elderly siblings assaulted during Limerick burglary

Two sisters and their brother were assaulted and tied up by masked men who raided their home last night.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information concerning the aggravated burglary of a house in Co Limerick last night.

During the incident, the three occupants – two sisters aged in their 60s and a brother in his 70s – were assaulted and tied up in their home in Pallasgreen.

Two masked men armed with knives broke into the house at around 10pm last night.

They attacked the three residents and ransacked the house, stealing a quantity of cash.

The occupants managed to escape about two and a half hours later to raise the alarm. All three were taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for treatment and have since left the hospital.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information about last night’s incident to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382940 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
