Mac Lochlainn is a Senator and former TD who was previously the party spokesperson on justice, equality and defence. He was elected to the Dáil in 2011 and to the Seanad in 2016. He was elected to Donegal County Council in 2004 and 2009. He served as Mayor of Buncrana from 2005-2006 and 2010-2011.
