Election 2016

Direct Democracy Ireland

Direct Democracy Ireland

Biography

The party is in fact a merging of two parties - Direct Democracy Ireland and the National Citizens Movement - but will appear on the register under a single banner. They advocate for a system of governance called direct (or participatory) democracy. Direct democracy entails public representatives being directly answerable to their constituents, with constituents having the power to recall their representative if they are not satisfied.
