Biography

Snell has been a councillor on Wicklow County Council since 2009. He was re-elected in 2014 and 2019. He was a member of Sinn Féin until 2017 when he was expelled after a disagreement over how the party was operated in Wicklow.

Question time
Why should someone vote for you?

I want to offer the people of Wicklow an alternative to party politics. I can stand up and use my voice without the interference of parties.

What is your number one priority for your constituency?

It’s a tough choice between health, housing and jobs, but if we got more funding and more support from central government we would be able to improve housing significantly.

What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?

I want to expand screening for newborn babies, but I know this may well take longer than 100 days.
