Biography
Fleming has been a TD since first elected in 1997. He is the most recent chair of the Public Accounts Committee. He served on Laois County Council for four years after being elected in 1999. He is the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on public expenditure and reform. He is a qualified chartered accountant.

Why should someone vote for you?
I would ask people to vote for me because I am a strong voice for my constituency, I stand up for what I believe in and people know I don’t make false promises and I will always deliver on what I say.
What is your number one priority for your constituency?
My number one priority in the constituency is to retain and enhance 24/7 cover of the opening of the A&E unit in Portlaoise Hospital.
What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if you are elected?
Ensure and re-examine the role of services being provided to families with children who have special needs, as despite all agencies working in this area, there are major gaps in services.
