Biography

First elected as an independent councillor in 2014, Whitmore retained her seat as a SocDems candidate in the 2019 local elections. She unsuccessfully contested the 2016 Seanad election. She is the Social Democrats spokesperson for children. She is the chair of the council's committee on climate and biodiversity. She previously spent time in Australia where she worked as a senior policy analyst. She has degrees in ecology and environmental law.
