Biography

Doherty has been a TD since first elected to the Dáil in 2011. She was appointed Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection in 2017. She is a former party Chief Whip and Minister of State. She formerly served as a councillor on Meath County Council. Prior to her career in politics, she worked in the IT sector.
