Eleven evacuated from bus fire at M1 toll plaza

A Bus Eireann vehicle caught fire in a southbound lane at 8am.

ELEVEN PASSENGERS WERE evacuated from a Bus Eireann vehicle this morning after it caught fire on the M1 southbound at the toll plaza.

The fire broke out at around 8am this morning and the motorway was closed for a time as emergency services dealt with the incident.

A Bus Eireann spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that there are no injuries and that the passengers have now been collected by a coach. The spokesperson also said that it was too early to confirm the source or cause of the fire.

Motorists are urged to drive with care in the area as smoke has reduced visibility.
